The Men's Shirt

I have been mixing men’s wear into my look for years now. I thought I would share one of my favorite classic styles on trend right now. The white oversized button down is a great starting piece in the men’s wear trend. You can mix this classic button down with a pair of boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, flowing skirt or my personal favorite a pencil skirt.  The white button down is a great piece to have in your closet. My style today is a basic out to coffee with a friend; I have paired my cheetah pumps by Audrey Brooke with Joe’s denim jeans. My envelope clutch is by Mossimo in mustard. This clutch is one of my favorite accessories for spring.  The Men’s Shirt is clever, compelling and rich.

Rainy Day Parka

Rain season is coming your way! I found the perfect coat for this upcoming season. The coat that I am wearing is a Parka raincoat from Forever 21. It’s the perfect coat to keep me dry and fashion forward. Underneath my coat I am wearing my distressed bullhead black jeans paired with my cut-off t-shirt by Modern Lux. My accessories in todays look include an agate necklace from TJ Maxx, and my Nine West cream heals.  Rainy Day Parka is keen, sharp and natural.

Bohemian Chic

Temperatures are rising which means spring is around the corner. Bohemian Chic is one of my looks for spring. Choker necklaces being the trending accessories this season, I wanted to do my own take. I designed a look that captured bohemian chic for spring 2016 that I have illustrated and included in this post. I am wearing a classic tan t-shirt from Target. I distressed this classic t-shirt to give it more of a worn feel. A tutorial will be in the future on distressing done by hand. Flare jeans are coming back this spring. So find them in the back of your closet and bring them back into your life! My accessories are Joes tan wedged booties from the 2015 collection with a bright yellow envelope clutch.  Bohemian Chic is turned out, quintessential, and compelling.

Fedora

Headwear trends are appearing this fall and winter and will appear seasons to come. My burgundy Fedora from Lucky Brand has been a statement accessories this past fall and winter. It’s a great color that breaks up my casual baseball caps. This spring you will see a change in texture of the fedora. Another headwear trend that I will be sharing in the future is over sized poms on your classic beanie. Look for that blog post coming soon! In this look I am featuring my grandmothers hand made classic blue blazer with my Croft& Barrow Windowpane Plaid Toggle Ruana poncho. I have transformed the poncho into a scarf. My featured accessories are Ralph Lauren black leather gloves and Sam Edelman Reyes rust red booties. Fedora is trim, snappy and la mode.

Boyfriend Coat

Boxy and cozy is the name of the game this fall and winter. This is my favorite coat for this season it can be dressed up or dressed down. Plaid has been around the style scene a lot this past year in clothing. It’s the perfect look for winter outwear. The boyfriend cut has loose long lines with an updated cut and styling. The boyfriend coat puts a chic spin on chilly days. I’m also wearing my off-white turtleneck that I found thrifting in Northern Minnesota. The price of the turtleneck was only $2.00. It’s not all about the price tag on the garment its how you wear it. I’m also wearing my all time favorite booties this season. They are by Sam Edelman Reyes boots in rust red with my Joes denim jeans. Boyfriend Coat is current, sophisticated and refined.

Rizzo

I was inspired to create my very own modern day look of the style icon Rizzo from the movie Grease. I am wearing an oversized apt. 9 black turtleneck, over the top of my stripped t-shirt dress that I have paired with my black Levity heels. To give my look a distinguished 1950s style I added a final piece that is my leather sleeved baseball jacket. Modern Day Rizzo is evocative with a twist of glam.

Checkmate

Grunge is one of my favorite styles to wear each season. This is my take on grunge for colder temperatures. I have my very own feminine twist on achieving this nostalgic style. I am wearing 2015 Target plaid campaign with a lavish trim. My go to basic black bullhead skinny jeans from Pac Sun (distressed by myself) with Joe’s tan ankle booties. Checkmate is the perfect balance of edge and class.

Tickled Pink

In the year 2016 I had a change of heart with the color Pink. I’ve been exploring the color pink this season just in time for Valentines Day. My go to colors will always be blacks and neutrals but this shade of pink has warmed my heart. In this look you will find my quintessential layering, accented with a bold accessory. I adore a stylish heal. Here I am wearing my 2015-burgundy BCBGeneration booties with distressed black skinny jeans. I found this irresistible turquoise necklace paired fabulously. When looking for jewelry accents I stick to gold but I do find myself mixing silver from time to time. Tickled Pink is simple, chic and straightforward.

Vintage Valentine

Valentines Day is quickly approaching; it’s not all about luxurious style. Charmingly cute can be mixed this season with a classic retro sweatshirt and your basic skinny jeans.  This look can be dressed down with classic high top converse, or dressed up with BCBGeneration Yellow Pumps.
